JOB DESCRIPTION

The Big Ten Network is looking for a Freelance Project Manager to join their team in Chicago, IL. We are looking for a Freelance Project Manager who is self-driven and take prides in every detail of their work.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project management includes planning, scheduling, budgeting, project communication, issue resolution, change management, vendor management, and risk management
  • Create and execute project plans for multiple projects
  • Coordination with all parties to refine project plan; Engineering, Operations teams, and other relevant source personnel depending on the project
  • Ensure projects meet deadlines and budgetary objectives
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and technical development teams
  • Coordinate across multiple teams, both internal and external
  • Coordinate design sessions and obtain signoffs
  • Coordinate vendors onsite visits for training, commissioning, or troubleshooting
  • Manage vendors
  • Effectively communicate relevant project information to all stakeholders and project team members
  • Procurement of goods and services including managing vendors and ensuring on-time delivery, invoice payments and reconciliation with Finance system
  • Oversee all incoming and outgoing project documentation
  • Request user access to internal tools, systems, temporary badge, or work location for project team

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 4+ years of experience in a technical project management role leading complex projects
  • 5+ years of experience in a project management role
  • Experience with a variety of project management methodologies
  • Proven management of multiple project stakeholders (e.g., internal core team, external vendors, contractors, business users, senior management)
  • Effective management of multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective communication and presentation skills appropriate for interaction with network clients, vendors, and senior management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent project leadership and team-building skills
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams consisting of product, design, and engineering
  • Ability to understand technical and design documents
  • Ability to multi-task and manage various project elements simultaneously
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools
  • Big-picture thinking and vision
  • Strong work ethics and integrity
  • Proactively taking action on open tasks, issues, and risks
  • Self-starter, fast learner, easily adapts to frequently changes and driven
  • Capacity to manage high-pressure situations

NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • BS degree or equivalent, PMP, MBA, or CSM
  • Experience with broadcast systems
  • Experience in consulting or client services
