What you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in education or related field
3-4 years as a Paramedic, Nurse, or related clinical practitioner
Prior experience in Emergency Services or Ambulance
NREMT-P or RN licensure
Ability to work fully on-site at the Regional Operations and Communications Center (ROCC)

Job Description:The GHS EMS Education department provides education, quality oversight, and medical direction to nearly 40+ EMS services and agencies in three states. Service oversight includes the Gundersen owned and operated ambulance services.
The Program Manager is responsible for departmental oversight and development, budgeting, support of EMS system strategy, and creation and maintenance of internal and external stakeholder relationships. The Program Manager is responsible for developing customized educational curriculum in conjunction with leadership, educators, quality, and operations staff. This professional will report to the Clinical Operations Director and partner with directors, clinical managers, program managers, supervisors, educators, and quality improvement staff in this effort. Core oversight will be to ensure quality improvement program activities are consistent and adaptable and education program content is relevant and timely. A focus on streamlining educational and quality assurance processes to allow for growth.
This professional will have a continuous grasp on the quality of care provided by the Gundersen Health System EMS entities as well as the numerous agencies where Gundersen provides medical direction.
Major Responsibilities
1. Work with EMS Education and EMS Medical Direction office providing input in establishing budgets, develops systems for financial analysis and monitors daily operations to ensure financial goals are met.
2. Provides evidence based adult learning educational initiatives and training to educators and leaders.
3. Develops comprehensive employee engagement curriculum and works closely with leaders to launch and implement such programs.
4. Aligns EMS education initiatives with overarching health system mission, vision, and strategy.
5. Oversight of Education-Planning/Development to meet the various state, National Registry, Emergency Medical Dispatch, and accreditation requirements for EMT and Paramedic licensure and certification renewal.
6. Ensures the educational program meets the standards and guidelines of accrediting organizations and the physician medical directors.
7. Provides education including the preparation of course materials, syllabi, tests, and evaluations.
8. Manages related course development of distance learning or virtual education options utilizing research-based approach to adult learning in virtual environments.
9. Attends meetings and represents organization at various stakeholder venues and opportunities.
10. Works closely with Medical Directors on development of a clinical quality assurance/quality improvement program, clinical guideline review, creation and implementation and case reviews.
11. Oversees regular case reviews with quality staff and works with leaders and educators to create and implement remedial training plans, when indicated.
12. Attends local and national conferences as a representative of Gundersen Health System, as directed.
13. Leads and provides oversight for the development and implementation of a comprehensive internal quality assurance/quality improvement plan in coordination administration and the Medical Director's office.
14. Acts as clinical liaison between field operations and external stakeholders; provides input and takes appropriate actions to help maintain a customer-centered focus to clinical programs.
15. Participates in investigations and acts upon customer complaints related to clinical care and provides follow-up to director.
16. Oversight of special projects and initiatives as approved by the director.
17. Actively plays an oversight role in paramedic trainee program development and maintenance. Ensures all stakeholders are aligned and support leaders and staff involved in this initiative.

Work Experience:
REQUIRED
3-4 years as clinical practitioner as a Paramedic, Nurse or related field.
Prior experience in Emergency Services or Ambulance

REQUIRED
National Registry Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic (NREMT-P) OR
Registered Nurse (RN) licensed minimally in the state of practice
