Job Brief

Under the supervision of the Quality Assurance Supervisor, the Blender prepares syrup and other ingredients for mixing and blends the ingredients according to established standards and procedures.

A leading soft drink Manufacture: 3rd shift Quality Assurance Blender/Line Tech (10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.) - starting wage $23.00 per hour - plus night shift premium @ $1.50 per hour - progressive compensation schedule / benefits at 90 days, 12, and 24 months. Must be safety and quality conscious, have the ability to work independently and in a group environment. Must have basic computer skills, math, and reading skills. Must be flexible for over-time (possibly on short notice) and the ability to work occasional weekends and/or holidays. Duties may require training on a different shift than candidate is primarily assigned to.

Location: La Crosse, WI Position: Blender / Line Tech Reports To: Quality Assurance Supervisor JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Quality Assurance Supervisor, the Blender prepares syrup and other ingredients for mixing and blends the ingredients according to established standards and procedures. The Blender is also responsible for keeping all related tanks and equipment clean. Housekeeping is required. Line tech duties include sanitation and product set up at the lines. JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Note: The job functions relate to the job, not the individual)
  • Sanitize tanks and equipment to ensure company quality standards are met.
  • Locate necessary ingredients in inventory and transport to syrup room for mixing. Blend syrup ingredients according to established standards and procedures.
  • Unload sugar/concentrate trucks.
  • Maintain records and logs of procedures, results, and problems.
  • Sanitize tanks according to schedule.
  • Interpret blending/sanitation schedule requirements and plan personal schedule accordingly to suite priorities.
  • Periodically perform inventory checks and sort concentrates and syrups. Assure ingredient stock is rotated.
  • Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all safety and sanitation and food safety regulations.
  • Understand computer usage, commands, and how to troubleshoot computerized Batch Controller.
  • Communicate effectively and be a team player.
  • Perform flavor changes.

* Perform required syrup tests using lab equipment

JOB DUTIES/MARGINAL FUNCTIONS (Not fundamental job duties)
  • Operate a forklift/ order picker, move material to proper location in inventory.
  • Maintain an orderly and sanitary condition of room and related storage areas.
  • Train new employees.

* Sort waste/recyclable materials.

* Perform Line Tech duties (set up of production lines for various products)

QUALIFICATIONS
