Join our team as a Remote Financial Aid Advisor and play a vital role in guiding students and their families through the financial aid process. You'll build rapport with our students and their families, provide clear and accurate information, offer effective solutions, and maintain ongoing communication. Ideal candidates for this role thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, excel in attention to detail and follow-up, and communicate with friendliness and compassion.

Our Financial Aid Advisor may be assigned to helping future students prepare for their educational journey.

Responsibilities
    Support students through initial and ongoing student contact, ensuring financial aid and other sources of aid is secured, and making certain all required paperwork is submitted.
  • Provide the best possible experience for students during every interaction by displaying compassion, composure, and offering compelling reasons to complete next step within proper timeframes.
  • Ensure all processing related to students' financial aid are administered accurately and timely and in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Educate students on federal aid borrower's rights and responsibilities, FAFSA completion, loan acceptance/denial, scholarships and alternative funding options that help resolve financing issues.
  • Manage an assigned workload load of students through a variety of tools and processes.

Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required. Some college courses preferred.
  • Must have at least 1 - 2 years of financial aid experience advising students and their families.
  • Must have knowledge of Title IV funding
  • Familiarity with COD, NSLDS, CPS and FAFSA application process strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with CampusVue and Regent would be a plus!

Skills

  • Bilingual preferred - must be able to speak, read and write in Spanish fluently
  • Must be able to work Pacific or Mountain (Arizona) time zone
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Professional communication Skills (verbal and written)
  • Must have excellent multi-tasking and time management skills and able to adapt quickly to a changing fast-paced environment
