Responsible for implementing, offering continuous improvement and providing ongoing management for the bank's Third-Party Risk Management Program in compliance with applicable regulations and industry practices. The incumbent will primarily oversee or lead the Third-Party Risk Management program while offering additional support to other Operational Risk Management programs such as Operational Loss Event Reporting Program, Model Risk Management, Payment Risk Oversight, Incentive Compensation Risk, and other operational risk programs as defined.

The incumbent will maintain appropriate policies, procedures, and reporting while establishing cross-functional partnerships with various Business Lines to ensure strong communication and a consistent application of Program requirements. Additionally, the incumbent will use a logical, risk-based thought process and industry best practice and experience to perform independent analytics and offer effective challenge that will assist management with risk identification, control assessment, root cause analysis, and ongoing monitoring of overall risk and performance. This role will be a liaison with independent testing and regulatory bodies for review and oversight along with support of Senior Risk Management for committee and board reports.

As a Third Party Risk Manager, you will:

  • Act as the Third-Party Risk Management expert for all Business Lines and support areas; provide objective and independent support, effective challenge, and guidance on Third-Party Risk Monitoring, Procedures, and Programs and risk management practices.
  • Lead team of risk professionals supporting the Operational Risk Management Framework; provide training, development opportunities and professional guidance including risk appetite statements, risk assessments, third-party risk, operational loss, sales practices and incentive compensation risk, and other operational risk as defined.
  • Develop Third-Party Risk Management Framework with supporting policies, procedures, reporting and total programs in accordance with industry and bank requirements; ensure quality implementation, comprehensiveness and value to Business Lines, and continue to strategically advance the Framework in line with organizational needs, scale and regulatory requirements.
  • Remain current with Third-Party Risk regulatory guidance and industry best practices as well as emerging industry-wide risks via public domain, industry-specific organizations, and internal contacts.
  • Provide leadership, tactical support and expert risk advisory on various Business Line and/or Company-wide initiatives; use sound risk-based decision making, experience and judgment in responding to inquiries of moderate to high risk and complexity.
  • Deliver an effective risk management monitoring program through review, analysis, and reporting; collaborating with business lines, third-party relationship managers, and internal contract teams to ensure third-parties perform to expectations and in alignment with contractual obligations.
  • Lead and/or actively serve on corporate governance committees/forums/working groups on behalf of the Risk Management function.
  • The incumbent will be a liaison with independent testing and regulatory bodies for review and oversight along with support of Senior Risk management for committee and board reporting.


Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Audit, Compliance, Risk, Business Administration, Finance, Economics or Accounting. Required


Experience

  • 4-7 years Financial services industry with specific senior-level responsibilities related to Operational Risk Management programs and practices; advanced understanding of operational risk, related control frameworks and practices, and existing and pending regulatory requirements. Required
  • Less than 2 years Project Management covering cross-functional projects with proven ability to develop and execute tactical plans. Preferred
  • Less than 2 years Interacting with and influencing leadership. Preferred
