Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Sales to manage our sales team and drive our company's growth in the K-12 education market. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in sales leadership within the education sector, particularly in literacy products or services. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional interpersonal skills and a passion for improving educational outcomes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain long-lasting customer relationships with school districts, educational institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while fully aware of new products and competition status.

  • Evolve and implement a consistent sales and sales operations process to drive new revenue and account expansion.

  • Manage revenue KPI's, data driven sales process, and forecasting accuracy to increase predictability and exceed budget targets.

  • Work closely with the marketing department to identify and develop new opportunities within the education sector to reach new customers.

  • Work closely with sales enablement and sales operations to reduce friction in the sales process.

  • Champion the voice of customer in product strategy and development to ensure that our offerings meet the evolving needs of educators and students.

  • Guide teams through organizational changes and adapt to evolving market dynamics.

  • Define compensation and/or commission structures that create incentive, recognition and drive behaviors that ensure we increase our impact.

Skills/Competencies:

  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to foster internal and external relationships.

  • Proven relationship-building skills with district-level administrators and education professionals.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive growth, penetrate existing accounts, and consistently meet/exceed revenue targets.

  • Knowledge of educational foundations and revenue generation processes.

  • Excellent mentoring, coaching, and people management skills.

  • Experience in SaaS business dynamics and service delivery organizations.

  • Excellent communication skills to articulate a clear vision and inspire sales teams.

  • Ability to balance tactical execution with a strategic perspective.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in senior management roles.

  • Demonstrated track record of achieving revenue targets and objectives.

  • Experience in building and leading successful revenue organizations.

  • Proven track record of success in selling instructional services and/or tech-based curriculum to the education market.

  • Familiarity with the unique challenges and opportunities associated with private equity-backed businesses preferred.
