Role and Responsibilities Shipping and Receiving Supervisors direct workers responsible for incoming and outgoing shipments. Essential duties of a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor are verifying shipment documents, determining shipping priorities, assigning work, developing shipping procedures, determining storage space requirements, supervising loading, and unloading operations, and updating records.
Qualifications and Education Requirements The qualified candidate should have a high school diploma and some college coursework is preferred. Must have comprehensive experience with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). The qualified candidate should possess 3 to 5 years in a related field, shipping and receiving experience preferred. Proven supervisory skills and the ability to create and lead a team is necessary. The use of a pallet jack, stacker, and forklift will be required for this position. If needed training will be available. The candidate should have great organizational skills and previous experience with data entry in a Unix based ERP system. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and walk distances of up to one hundred meters between buildings out of doors. The employee will spend extensive time computing and talking on the telephone. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
