Summary

A senior desktop support engineer plays a pivotal role in managing and maintaining the city's desktop environment. They will be responsible for tasks such as managing active directory, resolving software deployment problems, and conducting regular patch management processes. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for managing and maintaining our current environment, which consists of SCCM, Microsoft Intune, O365 Suite, and other solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Office Applications (including Teams, Sharepoint, OneDrive, etc.)

  • Manage Intune environment and assist with troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to optimize security, performance, and reliability. (e.g., Windows, iOS, and Android)

  • Through Intune configure and update city policies, profiles, and applications to endpoints, ensuring compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with the Client Services Team and other groups in IT to integrate Intune with other systems and services, like Azure, Active Directory and SCCM.

  • Able to mentor others on common desktop support-related issues. Stay connected and current with industry trends and best practices.

  • Strong technical writing documentation. Working knowledge of PowerShell and/or other scripting languages.

  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of m365

  • Admin 2-4 years of related experience

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the job's essential functions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related field or related experience

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Applications & Intune Certifications in any of the following: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network +, Any of the Microsoft Certifications, Intune, PowerShell

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Overall expert knowledge of Microsoft 365 products

  • Strong knowledge of Windows desktop management (Intune/SCCM)

  • Able to work within a team environment Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills

  • Able to present technical information clearly to non-technical users Skills in communicating effectively both orally and in writing

Licenses and Certifications

Valid Class C Texas driver's licenses
