POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION:

As a trained and experienced Maintenance Multi-craft Technician, serve as a core component of the Maintenance Department. Contribute to the success of the business operation. Lead safety efforts and assist in achieving the goal of zero recordable accidents. Work successfully without supervision and in a team environment. Maintain the electrical and mechanical systems. Perform additional duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequent standing and walking.
  • Occasional sitting, below waist level work, balancing, carrying, reaching over 15" away from the body, reaching above shoulder, use of forceful motion, fine motor skills, and lifting up to 35 lbs.
  • Minimal foot use, climbing, push/pull and lifting over 100 lbs.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as provided in detail in the Job Analysis Database.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One plus year related industry experience.
  • Able to read a ruler and perform basic functions on a calculator.
  • Basic knowledge of rigging, welding, cutting, and burning.
  • Ability to repair and maintain basic piping systems.
  • Ability to visually inspect and identify problems with complex mechanical and electrical components.
  • Basic electrical systems and component knowledge.
  • Ability to rebuild equipment with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrated good housekeeping practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good reading and math skills.
  • Basic communication skills.
  • Ability to follow and give instructions.
  • Good problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Arc Flash Trained.
  • CPR Trained.
  • Ability to solder in an acceptable manner.
  • Basic fabrication and construction skills.
  • Familiar with lubrication theory and practices, with the ability to properly inspect and lubricate couplings, bearings, and gearboxes.
  • Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and change various hydraulic and pneumatic components such as valves, fittings, filters, and pumps.
  • Basic knowledge in motors and drives.
  • Electrical systems and electrical distribution experience.
  • Basic instrumentation, electricity, and electronics as well as PLC process knowledge.
  • Capable of performing basic maintenance including preventative and corrective maintenance on overhead cranes, including cable inspections.
  • Certification(s) in mechanical or electrical specialties.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Remove, disassemble, refurbish, replace, and align machinery.
  • Performance of preventative maintenance (PMs).
  • Capable of basic print reading and identifying major components, both electrical and mechanical.
  • Perform routine assignments in a wide range of equipment and machinery with little to no supervision.
  • Responsible for basic hydraulics and pneumatics; troubleshooting and schematic interpretation.
  • Work as a team to support internal customer requests.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as instructed by the supervisor.
  • Involvement in continuous improvement of the manufacturing process.
  • Learn and utilize the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for daily activities.
  • Follow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures and requirements.
  • Ability to meet the essential job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as outlined in the job description.

  • Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
  • Primary internal customers: CSCP Operations Team
  • Primary external customers: Multiple
