JOB TITLE:

Admissions Representative

JOB PURPOSE:

Represent and give information about admission to the University to prospective students, their parents and transfer students within Wyoming and across the country; assist with development and implementation of student recruitment strategies, as directed; assist with planning, coordinating and supervising specific admissions programs or projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as the primary representative of an assigned geographical territory. Responsible for establishment, review, and fulfillment of enrollment goals for the territory in the context of competitive and market conditions. Develops a customized recruiting plan and budget for initiatives to meet goals. Reports regularly on goal progress.
  • Staff person is the main UW representative to prospective students, parents, transfer students and guidance counselors. Responsible for completion within territory of extensive travel; application, admission, and yield events; counselor relations activities and events. Maintains Customer Relations Management (CRM) record of territory activities.
  • Utilizes UW's information system and CRM tool to develop and carry out a personalized and custom communication plan to prospective students, families and guidance counselors in the assigned territory including calls, emails, chats and social media. Maintains tracking of communication on Banner or CRM. Communication must be completed at regular intervals to encourage student funnel progression.
  • Participates in and assists with various on campus recruiting events. Involvement can include presentations and event development. Events can also include those targeting high school Guidance Counselors.
  • Meets with students and families as part of UW's regular prospective student visit program. Responds to general student email and phone inquiries.
  • Work collaboratively with other campus departments, staff, and faculty in administering admissions and recruiting programs or projects.
  • Please note this position requires extensive travel in recruiting territories, weekend events, and hours outside the normal 8:00-5:00 p.m. work week.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree

Experience: 1 year of community service, leadership, college involvement and/or service in student affairs or similar capacity

Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements: Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with and ability to travel for extended periods throughout Wyoming and other states.
  • Knowledge of or familiarity with university enrollment processes: admissions, financial aid, orientation, advisement, or transfer processes.
  • Ability or experience with maintaining accurate databases and data entry on university or business/student information systems.
  • Experience with event planning, production and or management.
  • Ability to make presentations in front of large and small audiences.
  • Experience with marketing or promotional campaigns.
  • Ability to make effective decisions and think independently.
  • Ability to provide high caliber customer service in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to work as a team member and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
