About the role:

The Principal Event Marketing Specialist is responsible for effectively developing measurable event strategies, experiences, and environments, as well as executing logistics and budgets for our tradeshows and internal meetings for the Endoscopy (Endo) business. The position reports to the Senior Manager, Event Marketing.


This position serves as the project leader, and event marketing expert for the creative delivery of our strategy, messaging and brand presence at events. This person is responsible for continuous innovation to ensure Endoscopy solidifies its leadership position at industry events. S/he closely collaborates with a variety of stakeholders, including but not limited to Endoscopy Management Board, Product Marketing, Global Meetings Management, Global Digital Marketing, Global Brand, HCP Operations, Sales, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, external medical societies and vendor partners. Partnering with teams and individuals, this role leads the creation of engaging, effective event experiences for internal stakeholders and external customers that support our brand, portfolio and product stories in a measurable meaningful way. For external events, in particular, this role leads a cross-functional team to create a customer experience that creates awareness, increases preference and ultimately drives more opportunity into the Endo Sales pipeline.

This Principal is a seasoned, experienced senior level professional who offers strong judgment and analytical ability, evaluation, and ingenuity. This individual works on complex event projects where analysis of data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors and uses best practices and knowledge of strategic direction in order to recommend solutions to event challenges. This individual also collaborates internally and externally with global partners so international business and communication experience is essential.

Finally, this individual must be a master at multi-tasking, capable of driving strategy, executing tactics, managing multiple events, multiple stakeholders and shifting priorities. S/he must be able to lead by influencing peers and colleagues. S/he also must embrace and explore the new opportunities that digital and technology present in the ever-evolving event ecosystem.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drive brand, portfolio and product stories and experiences in measurable meaningful ways at industry events, aligning to broader Endo strategies and delivering a measurable and memorable experience.
  • Manage industry tradeshows and sponsorships including a measurable strategy reflective of the audience and meeting objectives, as well as cohesive integration with content, logistics, budget and events.
  • Recommend new and innovative improvements, digital/technology experiences, and best practices that enhance the brand experience for current and prospective customers.
  • Simplify complex messages with strong experiential recommendations and interactive executions that are measurable.
  • Manage and control event budgets with precision and accuracy, including but not limited to updating event budgets, tracking spend and reporting in a timely manner.
  • Develop new and enhance existing processes to continuously improve event execution and efficiency.
  • Manage agency and vendor resources.
  • Foster strong relationships with key customers, both internal and external
  • Organize and lead regular planning meetings with project teams.
  • Collaborate closely with Global Integrated Communications to create a visually dynamic exhibit experience that delivers key brand, portfolio and product level messages.
  • Ensure critical deadlines are communicated, tracked and met via a deliverables timeline.
  • Clearly communicate objectives, project status and updates to members of stakeholder teams on a regular and consistent basis.
  • Prepare and deliver post-show results and metrics that report on event goals, objectives and customer engagement activities.
  • Execute meeting and logistic requirements.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or other relevant field
  • 10+ years of global event marketing experience within the medical device or healthcare industry
  • Strong knowledge of event marketing, integrated communications, brand, and digital, as well as experience hiring and directing vendor partners and managing budgets
  • Multiple examples and experiences executing and delivering high impact events with measurable results.
  • Experience working within a global organization and with customers and vendors outside the U.S.
  • Ability to partner with medical societies.
  • Experience managing events and creative content in a highly regulated environment.
  • Experience managing event engagement and content strategies.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and demonstrate professional maturity.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, programs and changing priorities.
  • Ability to think strategically, while also project managing and executing tactics, details, deadlines and budgets
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Strong desire to continue to learn, develop and grow one's career in healthcare communications.
  • Passion for the healthcare industry
  • Strong ability to lead, influence and negotiate.
  • Passion for creating effective event experience and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with Cvent, create basic web registrations, custom reports and attendee management.
  • Requires 20-30% travel, including some weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CTSM or CMP certified professional
