The Health Equity Manager will:
  • Serve as subject matter expert for using quality improvement approaches to successfully implement health-related social needs and health equity programs, in adherence with regulatory requirements for the Medicaid Accountable Care Organization (ACO) program and other enterprise risk contracts.
  • Support change management efforts within ACO and clinically integrated network to reduce health inequities and structural barriers to health by leading strategic implementation of health related social needs and health equity priorities.
  • Manage a team of project managers and operational staff; providing guidance, setting clear standards and expectations, and supporting staff in developing skills, goals, and monitoring ongoing development and performance.
  • Align projects, processes, and resource planning with departmental goals and overall strategy.
  • Develop and manage relationships with external organizations, including social service organizations and state/local agencies.
  • Manage a portfolio of multiple concurrent projects/programs. Will manage changing priorities, escalate issues, and reset priorities as needed to meet deadlines and goals.
  • Collaborate with data analytic colleagues to identify and refine analyses for projects, developing analytic and quantitative frameworks to assess the feasibility of opportunities and evaluate programmatic performance.
  • Formulate recommendations for key stakeholders through development of exceptional deliverables, presentations, and materials.
  • Effectively facilitate cross-functional meetings to successfully collaborate and build consensus with others of different skill sets, backgrounds, and levels of experience.

To qualify, you must have:

  • BA Degree in Public Health, Social Policy, Healthcare Administration or closely related field. MA degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in public health or healthcare management, project management, consulting or related field
  • At least one year of experience working on health equity or anti-racism activities is preferred
  • Knowledge of health equity concepts and practical application of those concepts.
  • Knowledge of accountable care organizations, community-based social services, and population health management.
  • Knowledge of clinical concepts, terminology, workflows, preferably in pediatrics or child services.
  • Strong leadership skills and previous experience managing a team.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to lead cross-functional meetings.
  • Strong business acumen to clearly articulate issues and results and to understand and explain complex concepts.
  • Ability to drive change and consensus across organizations, and comfort leading through influence.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and to implement flexible processes and solutions.
  • Strong diplomatic skills and ability to use good judgement and discretion.
