Position Summary:

This position is designed to improve the availability of information, both financial and operational, at all levels of the Operations organization (Executive Leadership -> Line Supervisor) to help drive business results. The position will be responsible for assisting in the management of FFG, identifying and helping to resolve operational issues, as well as complete ad hoc analysis critical to operations success. This position will enable our Operations & Finance business partners to drive actionable change to improve overall business performance.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis, Capital, and Fuel for Growth:

  • Work with sites to update and maintain our capital spending forecast (as needed) and analyze FFG initiatives to meet company goals.
  • Review business changes, volume changes, and prepare the financial analysis associated with the changes and make recommendations based on cost, level of effort, and benefits.
  • Work with key business partners to prepare the capital models that are submitted through our RFE (request for expenditures) process. Ensuring all benefits are documented and verified and post audits are completed.
  • Perform Ad hoc analysis as requested as well as benchmarking studies by platform / line.

Forecasting & Budgeting:

  • Responsible for analyzing the LE's and full year forecasts on a routine basis to help identify areas of opportunity and risk. Works with sites to capture changes in production / distribution volumes and ensure that they are reflected in site/regional forecasts.
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process and help with analysis of the budgets to ensure that company objectives are being met.
  • Create the monthly MCR and analysis to support the regional roll-up review.
  • Review business plans and gap closures for areas of opportunity

Process Improvement and Operating Model Alignment:

  • Identify and implement process efficiencies to improve our reporting and business performance.
  • Working with corporate FP&A, assist in the development of Financial Models that will streamline analysis and reporting.
  • Assist in the creation of a consistent finance operating model across our manufacturing facilities.

Other Support:

  • Perform other analysis, reconciliations, or functions as assigned to support our Operations Team and the EDGE Operating system.
  • Assist in coverage of site tasks as needed.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • 10% travel required to plant locations throughout a calendar year.
Education and Experience:
  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
  • 2-4 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, modeling & reporting required
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel & PowerPoint required
  • Excellent verbal, written and listening skills are required
  • CPA or MBA a plus
  • Experience with JDE, AS400, BI Tools a plus
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Must be detail oriented, organized and highly analytical
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment
  • Ability to grasp new concepts and problem solve
  • Understanding of manufacturing variances
  • Strong technical skills in the analytical platform (MicroStrategy, BI, MS Excel, etc.) required with the ability to help train and embed new systems and tools for commercial team's systems and analytical needs.
  • Ability to give/receive constructive feedback, influence, and lead a team-based approach to decision making.

  • Salary Base Range of $94,701 - $121,493 for Employees Located in California*

*The "base salary range" provided above is a good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. The range provided is for California-based employees as Ventura Foods is required by California State Law to post pay rates. Ventura Foods reserves the right to pay outside of the given range based on a variety of factors including but not limited to: candidate skills and experience, complexity of the job, budgetary factors, and location/geography.
