Mead & Hunt is a Top 100 national engineering/architecture consulting firm with a growing municipal wastewater conveyance and stormwater management practice. As a result, we have a full-time position available for a wastewater/stormwater collection system project manager/engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the assistant project manager or project manager for municipal wastewater and stormwater collection system evaluation, planning, and design projects to solve municipal collection system problems related to combined and sanitary sewer overflows, flooding, collection system aging, and water quality
  • Overseeing design as well as performing technical design tasks
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic analyses
  • Provide study/evaluation and design lead engineering services
  • Mentoring and providing technical guidance to project team and junior staff
  • Performing quality control and quality assurance reviews
  • Serving as a client manager
  • Drafting proposals with scope and pricing
  • Occasional travel

The successful candidate must have all of the following:

  • A bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil, environmental, or related engineering from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of relevant experience

OR, if no degree,

  • At least nine (9) years of relevant experience of which at least two (2) years must be at the project manager level

The ideal candidate will have experience in any/all of the following:

  • EIT certification with the ability to obtain a PE within twelve months of hire
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling program such as SWMM (PCSWMM, XPSWMM, InfoSWMM, etc.) or MIKE URBAN
  • Civil 3D with a focus on sewer plan and profile development
  • Combined sewer overflow (CSO) long-term control plan (LTCP), CSO reduction planning, and sewer flow evaluation
  • Green infrastructure planning and design
  • Infiltration and inflow studies
  • Sewer system rehabilitation
  • Project management (scope, schedule, and budget)
  • Mentoring and providing technical guidance to staff
  • Project scoping and proposal writing
  • Client management for public entities
  • Coordinating and managing multi-disciplinary teams
