The Green Bay Broadway Mill is searching for a Precision Tech for the brand new Through-Air Dried (TAD) Converting Area.The Precision tech will have broad responsibility for environmental compliance, safety, reliability, and technician development within an ownership-based work system.This role will be part of the commissioning and start-up team for the TAD Product system.

A Precision Tech is a subject matter expert of the equipment and precision procedures/techniques. In this role, you will instruct your peers how precision equipment works, how to develop asset strategies and how to repair equipment in a precision matter. Not only will you be focusing on building capabilities, but there will also be a heavy focus on LEAN manufacturing work systems and Operator Basic Care. This is a day shift opportunity; however this role will require some flexibility with your work schedule that will be determined based on the workload.

What You Will Do

* Creating an environment where the team identifies and mitigates safety risk.

* Developing and implementing higher level safety controls to operational and maintenance tasks

* Gathering and sharing stop/loss data with Technicians and assisting the Technicians in the development and improvement of their equipment asset strategies

* Transfer skill and knowledge following standard procedures, troubleshooting guides, equipment centerlines, etc.

* Work with the converting team/Technicians to understand the major loss/stop areas and share your knowledge of equipment operation, defect correction, and precision practices to improve their asset strategies.

* Lead and promote Operator Basic Care and our discipline operations work processes.

* Leading the execution of an ownership-based work system by building capabilities of technicians to operate, maintain and improve their asset.

* Facilitate and help implement operational improvements through improved processes, procedures, and engineering controls.

* Working with support personnel to resolve short term reliability issues while assisting with developing long-term reliability solutions.

* Fostering a culture that drives ownership and continuous improvement mindset.

* Supporting the execution of asset and reliability strategies by teaching operating technicians how to execute to world class standards.

* Facilitating, teaching, and participating in root cause analysis problem solving.

* Assisting development of standard operating and maintenance procedures.

* Coordinating contractor and maintenance resources.

* Plan, prep, lead and participate in daily, weekly, and monthly Technician inspections.

New TAD Converting Responsibilities

* Developing and Standing-up PPR and OBC Work Processes

* Creating Content and implementing Technician Learning and Development Process

o Coaching Technicians, consistency across shifts

o Lead Operational Qualification & Certification Process

o Asset Strategy Execution

* Operating Envelope - Standardized Work, Troubleshooting Guides, etc.....

* Condition and Time-Based Operator Maintenance

* Simple repairs

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

One of the following:

  • Three (3) or more years of manufacturing experience
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing machinery
  • Experience teaching new employees and working within a diverse team
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience operating or maintaining converting equipment in the paper industry (PCMC, Infinity, E80, winding and packaging equipment)
  • Mechanical and Electrical System Knowledge
  • Equipment and/or manufacturing systems reliability experience
  • Experience with executing Lean or Continuous Improvement
