Position Description

Performs managerial work providing direction and guidance in setting and achieving goals and objectives; developing policies; reviewing guidelines, procedures, rules, and regulations; establishing priorities, standards, and measurement tools for determining progress in meeting goals; coordinating and evaluating program activities; and establishing and monitoring budget. May plan, assign, and supervise the work of others. Works under limited supervision with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

About the Department and/or College

The Learning Center & Supplemental Instruction provide academic support to students outside of regularly scheduled class time. Our purpose is to provide the best learning experience. We help students succeed in historically difficult courses by offering peer led group review sessions, engaging students in innovative ways, and creating connections and belonging

Major/Essential Functions

  • Facilitates the scheduling of SI Sessions by reserving rooms, meeting with SI Leaders, and creating documents to manage SI Session reservations.
  • Supervises student assistants. Plans, updates, and hosts student assistant training.
  • Supervises a group of SI Leaders. Meets and evaluates the performance of SI Leaders and student assistants.
  • Coordinates the mid-semester and end of semester survey assessment process. Provides feedback to student staff and professional staff.
  • Assigns classroom checks to student assistants and professional staff.
  • Schedules and sends e-mail reminders for test review sessions and employee recruitment.
  • Assists the Program Director with the development and update of the SI website.
  • Assists in promotion the Learning Center/SI program and department with faculty and university committees, campus events, and community events.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in area of expertise or closely related area required. Three years of experience in planning, developing, or implementing programs/projects or research grants. Additional education may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Previous experience in a university or college, with student programs.

Pay Statement

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan by visiting www.depts.ttu.edu/hr/payplan.
