Job Description
  • Provides basic tactical support to end users, including testing, data maintenance, training, and support of one or more functional areas, as assigned. Performs basic problem identification, defect resolution and training to prevent reoccurrence. Performs basic corrections and data maintenance and may include design specifications. May draft user guides. Typically assigned to small projects or a phase of a medium or large project. Provides basic tactical support to define, test, train, and/or support one or more functional areas, as assigned. Develops, debugs, and maintains systems, as assigned. Provides basic tactical support to research and identify solutions for the daily user queries. Tests and implements basic changes, extensions and enhancements to existing applications, programs and reports. Prepares basic program specifications and/or system documentation and creates basic front-end user interfaces to new or existing databases. Drafts technical process for conversion into end-user documentation, as assigned. Monitors and reports business policy and procedure compliance concerns. May support basic data migration, conversion, or loading requirements as assigned.

Primary/Essential Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Engineers and Designers to maintain and improve the quality and efficiency of the Engineering Departments CAD environment and related tasks.
  • Gathering user feedback and implementing appropriate process improvements, Best CAD user practices and training either as an individual mentor or in group settings.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and information resource for CAD applications globally across the company.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for global PDM and PLM systems
  • Global recommendations for CAD platform, computer recommendations and general CAD company improvements
  • Planning the coordination for global CAD tool administration tasks such as installation, upgrades, testing and validation.
  • Recommend best practices to manage and maintain standard parts library for electrical and mechanical teams
  • Troubleshooting between multiple CAD and systems, maintain production in 800+ user environment.
  • Develop and maintain 5-year roadmap for Global CAD foundation
  • Stay abreast with current CAD and industry trends, annually make recommendations and perform risk analysis
  • Computer recommendations, develop and maintain computer upgrade program
  • Project manager for all upgrades and CAD improvements (globally)
  • Global CAD budget

Qualifications --

Required Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Geographical Information System (GIS), related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of Managing the CAD experience within an engineering environment.
  • Global or multi-facility CAD experience
  • Experience with application development, testing, and application enhancement processes.
  • Experience with 3D modelling design procedures, Plotting, Laser scan technology and software.
  • Experience with desktop software such as MS Office (MSWord, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, PowerPoint & Access).
  • Experience with Windows operating systems.
  • Experience interfacing between Engineering and Information Technology (IT) professionals to define requirements for CAD software and hardware optimization.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, present proposed solutions to mid and upper management using common office software (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project Management Skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP Certified
  • Knowledge of Dassault Solidworks software suite
  • Certified PDM and PLM specialist
  • Previous CAD Management experience in multi-facility environment (Global Preferred)

Expected Salary: $59,000- $115,000 annually.

Please note that compensation is based on a variety of factors when extending offer, including but not limited to, the role, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, qualifications, and business considerations.
