Job Summary:

The University of Wisconsin Law School seeks a conscientious, diligent, amiable and detail-oriented candidate to serve in this role that will support student, alumni, and faculty events. This position will serve as the administrative lead and coordinate a variety of events that support the vision and mission of UW Law School. This position will provide support for events held by a number of departments including External Affairs, Admissions, and the Dean's Office. This position will be under the highly motivated and supportive External Affairs Department and will work closely with the events team within the External Affairs Department to successfully implement a large portfolio of events. This role will provide logistical, budget, communication, and administrative support for several small and large annual events that highlight a number of different strategic interests.

Duties as the Event Manager will include:
1) Establish and execute day-to-day operational tasks to support featured events that align with the UW Law School's strategic plan and as directed by the Associate Dean External Affairs and Alumni Relations. This includes reserving space, making travel accommodations, advertising events, working with faculty and guest scholars, providing onsite day of event support, and other event related work.
2) Monitor and execute the budget for assigned events and any other assigned activities. This requires working with EA and UW Law accounting staff to stay within University guidelines.
3) Collaborate with staff at the Law School, Foundation and central campus to identify events that present opportunities for local or national attention with internal and external stakeholders that could increase attendance, highlight the faculty scholarship enterprise, attract donors to the school or specific programs, and elevate external views of events hosted by the UW Law School.
4) Establish and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the featured events and the promotion of law school department events.
5) Direct daily operations of events, including monitoring the budget and/or supervising event planning staff to ensure that operations run efficiently, economically, and in line with department goals and policy.
