Job Description

Summary

  • Position Summary
    • The Contracting Manager will be actively involved in the development and negotiation of agreements, amendments and other related documents between the MaineHealth Accountable Care Organization (ACO) and Payers and between the MaineHealth ACO and contracting providers (Medical and Behavioral HealthCare providers and facilities). The Contracting Manager will assist in financial modeling related to contracting as needed. The Contracting Manager will assist in the identification and resolution of payer issues impacting MaineHealth ACO members. Further, the Contracting Manager will participate in communications and education to MaineHealth ACO members regarding Payer agreements.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Bachelor's degree. Masters preferred.
    • License/Certifications: N/A
    • Experience: At least 5 years' experience in managed care or related healthcare field.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and to collaborate with teams of individuals in diverse settings.
    • Ability to manage conflict, stress and multiple simultaneous work demands in an effective, professional manner.
    • Ability and willingness to self-motivate, prioritize, and be willing to change processes to improve effectiveness efficiency. Adapts to changing organizational priorities.
    • Knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office.
