Position Title: Outreach Program Coordinator/ Dean's Assistant
Employment Type: Full time, Academic Staff, Exempt
Reports To: The Outreach Program Coordinator/ Dean's Assistant will report to the Dean of the College of Business, Economics, and Computing.

The Outreach Program Coordinator/ Dean's Assistant to the Dean of the College of Business, Economics, and Computing (CBEC) primarily supports the CBEC Dean, and provides some assistance to the departments, programs and daily operations in the College. The position also includes recruiting students, as well as developing and maintaining partnerships with community organizations and high schools in our region to support CBEC programming opportunities. In addition, responsibilities include representing the college and our programs at outreach and community engagement/ recruitment events; event planning and coordinating; and planning and facilitating campus meetings and events. This person will assist the Dean with social media and web editing to further promote CBEC and also assist in reviewing the budget and developing related reports.
The person in this position must perform duties with minimum supervision, exercise motivation and initiative in decision making, and have the ability to exhibit creativity and self-direction with a capacity for independent work and multi-tasking as part of a team. Must possess the willingness to accept and lead change in a fast-paced office environment. A positive, forward-focused, and friendly attitude must be maintained at all times. The position requires a high degree of confidentiality, responsibility, and independence in completing responsibilities and representing the college/programs on and off campus.


Essential Job Functions

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Advise CBEC Dean of situations that require attention.
  • Exercise confidentiality and discretion in all aspects of the position, including communications with administrators, faculty, academic staff, academic department associates, and students.
  • Assist the Dean in developing, managing, monitoring, reporting and reconciling the College's budget.
  • Assist in grant sourcing, writing, and program coordination.
  • Research and assist in preparation of college data, administrative documents, and reports.
  • Represent the college and its academic departments at recruitment events both on and off-campus.
  • Plan and coordinate on campus special College events/outreach as needed (space, invitations, marketing, catering, travel, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain relationships and programming opportunities with area high schools and community organizations. Attend off campus meetings and events to support these programs/partnerships.
  • Coordinate meeting times, dates and locations for individuals at Dean's request.
  • Assist with travel arrangements for the Dean and related documentation.
  • Assist the Dean with social media and website editing to promote CBEC.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of work experience in fast-paced, administrative support environment
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft suite and website editing
