Job Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for documenting, controlling, and improving the processes used to manufacture TimberPro products at the Shawano TimberPro facility. This role will work closely with production supervision, production planning, purchasing, design engineering, and accounting to drive improvements throughout the facility including safety risk mitigation, quality improvements, new product development, delivery improvements, and cost reductions. The manufacturing engineer will be responsible for capital improvement projects throughout the facility.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Plans and designs manufacturing processes in industrial plant. Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Determines parts and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification.
  • Executes manufacturing portions of the engineering change notification process with buyers and planners to ensure smooth transition of material and process changes
  • Plans, designs, researches, presents approval documentation and executes manufacturing capital projects
  • Communicates needs with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Vendors, to ensure project timelines are met and product quality is to the TimberPro standards.
  • Completes reports, records test findings and presents issues in a professional manner.
  • May be required to manage interns to support manufacturing improvement projects
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor of Science in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, or a related equivalent technical degree in hydraulics or welding.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a Heavy Manufacturing Environment working with Mechanical, Electrical, and Hydraulic Systems is required.
  • Previous project management, people management and leadership experience is preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, and high-level user skills in Infor Syteline, PIPS, SAP, and inventory planning systems.
  • Must possess analytical/critical thinking skills and strong written and verbal communication.
  • Up to 10% travel required.
  • Must project a cooperative and positive attitude toward customers, employees, and the Company.
  • Must comply with all environmental, quality and safety rules, practices, and standards.
