The Risk Analyst is responsible for assisting the Manager/Fraud & BSA with fraud prevention and mitigation. The primary responsibility is to analyze potential suspicious activity alerts generated from account activity monitoring software. This individual communicates with members, other financial institutions, government agencies and law enforcement, in addition to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of fraud prevention. This position requires maintaining confidentiality with member/team member information, as well as communicating with and supporting team members of other departments, branches, and law enforcement.

This position has a starting hourly rate of $24.23, but your offer amount may be increased with relevant work experience and transferrable skills.

A Day in the life of a Risk Analyst can look like:

  • Monitor and review fraud analytics for potential suspicious activity and investigate as needed.
  • Review and recommend actions in response to various internal requests and provide overrides when appropriate.
  • Analyze fraud data and trends; develop and implement proactive plans and programs to address opportunities to mitigate fraud.
  • Monitor and review cyber fraud activity through various channels including Verafin and Lumin.
  • Assist the Fraud Investigator with issuing fraud alerts, team member fraud training, and processing subpoenas, search warrants and court orders as needed.

What you bring to the table:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of financial industry experience.
  • Proficiency using Excel and Word.

You might also have:

  • College degree.
  • 2 years of experience in fraud prevention and cyber fraud investigations
  • Basic understanding of financial institutions regulations.
