Summary of Position:

Oversees all warehouse, thermal, packaging, and shipping production operations.Lead, train, and mentor supervisors in all aspects of the production operations. Lead and improve production operations performance within the organization to safely produce quality products and services on time and complete. Drive continuous improvement through development of improved methods, tooling, machinery, and facilities to achieve business goals and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, establish, and implement long-range and short-term strategies and operating policies to achieve established departmental goals and objectives.
  • Set clear performance expectations for team members.
  • Determine staffing needs and coordinate resources, optimizing facilities, personnel and equipment in order to meet production requirements.
  • Plan and coordinate production requirements.
  • Leverage technical resources to maintain quality.
  • Foster the development of associates in a positive, productive environment.
  • Analyze customer requests/issues and make decisions for their best resolution.
  • Review production processes and make recommendations to improve quality, reduce cost, or increase productivity. Encourage team involvement in improvement initiatives.
  • Manage associate performance issues when needed to ensure a team-oriented workplace.
  • Establish appropriate metrics to measure process effectiveness and improve results.
  • Report the status of production goals, compliance to schedules, and budget considerations to Director of Operations.
  • Represent manufacturing/operations on cross-functional project teams.
  • Apply statistical methods and perform analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and increased efficiency.
  • Apply Lean principles in own work performance and drive Lean application in company operations.
  • Ensure written standard operating procedures and work instructions for key processes are in place.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Qualified candidates will possess a 4-year degree in a related discipline and 5 or more years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with multi-department responsibility required
  • A successful track record of attaining results and building highly effective teams is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to build teams in a positive, fast-paced work environment
  • Familiarity with Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma concepts
  • Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, Performance Management system)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Physical Demands:

Light - typical of an office environment or light industrial

Required to sit or stand and move about the facility

Occasional lifting required

Work Environment:

75% exposure to the production environment (heat, operating machinery and noise). Office duties require sitting behind a desk, performing tasks on a computer. Position involves limited travel. No significant physical exertion required.
