Job Description

Through leading innovations, we help farmers around the world meet the challenge of feeding a growing population and taking care of our planet. We are currently seeking an Admin and HSE Coordinator for the R&D Vegetables team in Nampa, ID.

Role Purpose:The purpose of the Admin and HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) Coordinator role is to support the Operations team and site management in all administrative and HSE duties.

Accountabilities

  • Assure compliance with all company, local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to administration, HSE and payroll.
  • Responsible to input data required to include new companies in the procurement system.
  • Responsible for administering a safety and environmental program that supports Syngenta's HSE. policies, including safety meetings, safety investigations and coordinating safety training.
  • Set up and maintain HSE records as required by state and federal regulations.
  • Schedule and supervise health and environmental testing and perform risk analysis.
  • Coordinate and supervise monthly pesticide reporting and implement automated systems for reporting.
  • Effectively on-board new employees: provide new employee orientation and maintain employee records.
  • Ensure all facility operating documents and permits are current and renewed on time.
  • Coordinate and supervise office services, including mail, shipping logs, office equipment and supplies.
  • Responsible for coding and entering of all accounts payable into SAP.
  • Manage records retention program.
  • Coordinate CW safety meetings and record minutes and comments from crews and lead implementation of safer ways to work.
  • Keep updated behavioral program records for the site.
  • Effectively communicating on a daily base with peers and supervisor regarding the status of projects and work activities.
  • Record and analyze key metrics to support site management in business decision making processes.
  • Support in implementation of proprietary systems to track working activities at the site.
  • Support contract working hiring across different agencies.

Qualifications

Knowledge, experience & capabilities

  • B.S. degree in business or related field preferred. Candidates with relevant comparable experience may be considered.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Strong knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, in both English and Spanish.

Critical knowledge

  • Ability to use MS Office and SAP.
  • Advanced Safety & Health Certificate (OSHA) required, or ability to obtain such certificate within 6 months after hire.

Critical experience

  • Minimum of 3 years administrative experience.
  • Technical understanding of safety and environmental processes in an agricultural setting.

Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities

  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, SAP, Sharepoint, smartsheets, PowerBi, etc)
  • Must be able to work in a team and communicate with individuals at all levels throughout the organization.
  • Project management skills.
  • Must be able to handle and maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to effectively communicate safety requirements to a diverse population of employees.
  • Ability and motivation to learn new technologies.
