We are looking for a Distribution Area Manager. This role who will be for planning and managing the operations of the distribution area, including related support functions, to ensure the continuous and efficient production/packaging (picking/shipping) of product. Based on plant goals and objectives, establishes operating and strategic plans for work unit, sets performance measures in order to maintain focus on objectives and priorities, and allocates resources to meet those objectives. These work units operate multiple shifts and have over 100 distribution employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing packaging/distribution (warehouse/distribution) operations to ensure that processes are safe and result in product that is made to specifications. Coordinates the introduction of new product and product technologies with other parts of the organization such as Technology, OE and aftermarket sales, etc.
  • Responsible for all aspects of customer satisfaction including delivery on a timely basis. Monitors and evaluates supplier performance to assure raw materials and purchased parts meet quality specifications and are delivered on a timely basis.
  • Properly report, investigate, and implement corrective actions to quality problems and safety incidents.
  • Responsible for developing and executing the unit's annual operating, strategic and capital plans and for driving continuous improvement in all packaging (warehousing), distribution and related support operations. Regularly reports on unit's financial and operational performance.
  • Assures that all assets of the unit are properly safeguarded and maintained including financial assets, all physical assets and human capital. Proposes capital expenditures.
  • Responsible for the application of human resource policies and practices to ensure the fair and consistent treatment of all employees. Coach and mentor managers and supervisors to enhance individual and organizational performance.
  • Targets to reduce customer concerns and external and internal PPM and to Eliminate, Reduce Reuse, or Recycle natural resources.

Education:Bachelors' Degree in Engineering or related field.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Manufacturing/Distribution operation.
  • Knowledge of business and distribution operations at a level sufficient to rank priorities and make sound decisions.
  • The ability to make sound and reasoned decisions, including the ability to break a problem/situation into various components, and to clarify the various components of a problem/situation through probing, seeking out knowledgeable parties, observing and skillful questioning.
  • Management abilities necessary to plan and prioritize own work and that of direct reports.
  • Demonstrated skills in the operation of various computer programs including Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint. Ability to access QMS and EHSMS documents and incorporate them into daily work activities.
  • Able to access QMS documents and incorporate them into daily work activities; able to access EHSMS standard procedures and work instructions and incorporates them into daily work activities.
  • SAP knowledge in OTC, WM and PP
  • Knowledge of WMS principles (Manhattan WMS a plus)
  • APICS certification a plus
