Job Summary

Under the direction of the Product Category Manager - Automotive, the Product Manager- Truck and Heavy Equipment is responsible for managing product and marketing-related activities within the heavy-duty truck and heavy equipment markets. This position plays a crucial role in driving the success of our products from conception to market launch and beyond. This position is responsible for understanding market needs, defining product strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional products that meet customer demands and business objectives within the commercial truck, construction, and agriculture equipment markets.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage new product development activities using the Product Roadmap to optimize product launches.
  • Communicate customer input and needs for new product developments to design engineering and prioritize all new product development activities to maximize sales growth.
  • Lead cross-functional teams consisting of various operational units to determine critical inputs for the calculation of product manufacturing costs and required capital investments.
  • Calculate return on investments (ROI) for new product developments and author business cases for justification on the capital expenditures required for new product developments.
  • Determine new product pricing via the combination of investigative work into market-level pricing and striving to achieve corporate profit margin targets.
  • Key contributor to product and market deliverables required for effective product launches and truck and heavy equipment market branding.
  • Fully manage the product life cycle of the existing HellermannTyton products in the truck and heavy equipment industry to determine future market opportunity, the potential for modifications, or obsolescence.
  • Develop and deliver product training to internal teams as well as direct to customers.
  • Generate production forecasts and financial reports relevant to the market and take action where needed to improve sales, profitability, and market share.
  • Proactively create recommendations for improvements to grow Hellermanntyton's business within the market.
  • Provide technical support and ensure the products have the required technical certifications.
  • Visit customers and attend industry trade shows to evaluate market needs.
  • Ability to travel 20%.

Qualifications (skills, knowledge, experience):

  • Bachelor's degree required. Engineering, Marketing, or Business Administration preferred.
  • B2B business experience within a customer-facing role. Ability to communicate with customers on technical and commercial subjects. Ability to convince customers on solutions with mutual benefit.
  • Previous experience in a product development-related position for a manufacturing company.
  • Previous product management experience is a plus.
  • Experience in heavy trucks, construction machinery, or adjacent industries is a strong plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
