As an DevOps Engineer, you will be an early employee of the new innovation organization within Saab, Skapa. You'll be creating tools and techniques for building scalable architecture, helping develop cutting edge artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions, and be part of a team building best in class software.

As part of the team, you'll be both supporting development and enhancement of an existing SaaS machine learning platform, as well as developing new applications across Saab. This will involve interacting with teams building diverse software and hardware applications across a large range of domains, with the chance to make a huge impact across the company and its customers.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Developing and improving processes to secure and deploy an existing Saab SaaS platform
  • Helping the team build, improve, and deploy prototypes for new AI/ML solutions across Saab, Inc.
  • Solving security issues and maintaining software compliance for DoD Authority To Operate (ATO)
  • Hands on keyboard technical at least 85% of your time
  • Interacting with other groups and engineers across Saab, Inc.

Compensation Range: $132,800-$172,700

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must hold or be able to obtain U.S. DoD SECRET security clearance and be a U.S. Citizen.
  • High interest in supporting innovative projects requiring the ability to rapidly learn new tools, languages, and application domains
  • Experience securing cloud and on-premises software applications
  • Experience developing secure application deployment and CI/CD pipelines
  • Proficient software engineering skills in Python
  • Experience developing applications using modern databases, preferably Postgres, as well as caching mechanisms such as Redis
  • Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results
  • Cloud provider deployment experience
  • Experience with the Linux environment (Ubuntu, RHEL) and the command line
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied and Computational Mathematics or related discipline.

BONUS POINTS

  • Experience with code and container scanning, issue remediation, STIGs
  • Experience with infrastructure/deployment on AWS
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience with testing and continuous integration
  • MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied and Computational Mathematics or related discipline.
  • Active US Government Security Clearance
