Work Schedule Details: Staffing 1-12hr Day/Evening Shift and 3 Admin Days 1500-2330

Services Provided Around-the-Clock - Emergency Care

  • Seven emergency department (ED) beds
  • Froedtert & MCW board-certified ED physicians, registered nurses and paramedics
  • In-house lab and pharmacy services
  • In-house imaging, including low-dose CT scan, X-ray and ultrasound

Job Summary:

Organizes and administers areas of Patient Care Services to attain the hospital's objectives established by the health system.

Responsibilities:

Upholds the values and mission of the health system Assists the Hospital Administrator with nursing services 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week at assigned facilities. Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures regarding department operations, fire safety, emergency management and infection prevention and control Recommends modifications, additions, or deletions to staffing plans to ensure reasonable hours and acceptable working conditions to provide optimal patient care coverage. Maintains the staffing schedule to ensure appropriate staff coverage. Maintains close coordination with all departments to ensure continuity and collaboration of services. Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality Monitor facility quality program matrix to the highest quality in nursing care to our patients and recommends changes when needed. Works in the ED at least one 12-hour shift and in an administrative capacity for the remainder of the FTE. Supports Hospital Administrator during their times of absence. Other duties as assigned by the Hospital Administrator.

Requirements:

  • Minimum five (5) years prior experience in ED patient care services. Previous leadership experience is preferred.
  • Associates degree required. Bachelors' Degree in healthcare management, administration or nursing, preferred.
  • Current state license as a registered nurse. Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS or ENPC required.
  • Maintains regulatory requirements, including all federal, state, local laws and regulations and accrediting organization standards. Maintains and ensures patient confidentiality at all times. Ability to communicate effectively, maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians and all levels of staff. Resolves staff concerns at all levels, utilizing the grievance process as required. Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner. Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the health system. Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices. Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives. Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail. Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities. Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Ability to work with all levels of staff to define business requirements and goals, and to identify and resolve issues. Ability to foster effective relationships and build consensus through the all levels of leadership in the organization. Knowledge and ability to work on large-scale complex projects that include multiple strategic goals and multiple tactical tasks
