Job Description
Overview

Teaches vocational training subjects to students by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Organizes program of practical and technical instruction, including demonstrations of skills required in trade, and lectures on theory, techniques, and terminology.
  • Instructs students in subject areas such as mathematics, science, drawing, use and maintenance of tools and equipment, codes or regulations related to trade, and safety precautions.
  • Plans and supervises work of students, individually or in small groups, in shop or laboratory.
  • Tests and evaluates achievement of student in technical knowledge and trade skills.
  • Places students in job training.

Education and Experience

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
One year of EMS or Allied Health Experience


Certification and Licensure

CPR within 90 days

For those driving Mercyhealth vehicles:
Maintain a valid driver's license.
Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy.

For those driving their personal vehicles:
Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with proof of vehicle insurance when requested.
Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy.


Skills and Abilities
Must be willing to travel off site for educational presentations 20%of the time.

The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
