Job Description

About the Role:

The enterprise value stream leader is accountable for all aspects of the defined value stream. This includes responsibility for increasing customer value while eliminating waste; and for ensuring that the value stream consistently meets or exceeds customer needs. Activities often span across several independent organizations and functions.

This position can be done remotely with travel up to 25% to our various locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leading and mobilizing the people inside and outside of the value stream (and inside and outside the Wabash organization as needed - partners, suppliers and customers) to enable the required changes.
  • Leading the day-to-day activities within the value stream to ensure that current commitments are achieved while improvements are being made.
  • Provides support for all activities related to Continuous Improvement efforts, enhancing knowledge of the tools, techniques and principles within the Wabash Management System (WMS), as well as other Enterprise Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies across the Value Streams.
  • Own the demand plan for the defined value stream.
  • Working with sales and pricing council, establish pricing strategy by product, by customer, by channel, across the Value Streams.
  • Passionately support change management efforts between Wabash internal teams and external stakeholders to assure pace, discipline, and execution of material changes to the business in the way of joint ventures, acquisitions, and partnerships.
  • Lead and support growth plans in conjunction with Wabash Parts, Wabash, its dealers, and the Wabash Marketplace in ways that align efforts across the entire ecosystem.
  • Develop distribution strategies and relationships that optimize parts flow and support enterprise strategic growth objectives.
  • Liaise with sales, our ecosystem, and our external dealers / partners to grow sales capabilities across additional product lines quickly and effectively.
  • Assist in the development of improved E-Commerce capabilities that improve parts market penetration.
  • Look for new ways to grow recurring revenue and support business development and business plans that qualify opportunities.
  • Partner with Product Management, Product Ownership and Finance to assist with developing and monitoring the parts pricing process to drive standardization and maximize margins and profit.

Longer Term Duties

  • Ensuring that a current state value stream map is created of the end-to-end value stream(s).
  • Conducting fact-based analysis of the current state map(s).
  • Preparing an ideal state map showing what the value stream could look like in the long term.
  • Preparing a future state map that uses lean techniques to eliminate waste and improve process value.
  • Creating & executing a product roadmap and product plan to achieve the future state.
  • Leading the implementation of the plan in close coordination with the respective process owners.

Knowledge, Skills, Attributes:

  • Ability to evaluate and view the entire value stream from a broad perspective.
  • Ability to understand and diagnose key system constraints and be able to quickly identify critical process issues within the system.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of lean system principles and lean thinking, with a willingness to partner with others to build lean expertise.
  • Must demonstrate ability to create value and capture value created across the entire system.
  • Ability to lead an influence without direct authority; motivate and inspire those around them to execute to the needs of the value stream.
  • Demonstrate skills in organizational change management, and overall change management principles.
  • Demonstrate bias for utilizing data based decision making processes. Must quickly and effectively be able to identify, utilize, and analyze data.
  • Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset and openness to new ideas and different perspectives to identify the optimal path forward.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and actively manage a value stream plan.
  • Demonstrate a customer centric focus and mindset of continually re-working the overall system to capture customer value.
  • Effectively communicate across all levels of the organization, from the factory floor to senior level executives and the CEO.
  • Act as a role model for demonstrating Wabash National's Leadership Principles and Values as well as overall leadership ability and business acumen.
  • Communicate effectively, with transparency and candor at each level of the value stream enabling optimal information flow.
  • Maintain a holistic view of the organization and understand where their value stream fits. Not sacrificing one area for the sake of optimizing another, but to optimize for the whole instead.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in business, supply chain, engineering or related field required. Masters in Business Administration preferred.
