Job Description
Provides leadership, direction, and strategic vision to assigned units within the 401(k) department. Accountable for developing a customer centric culture and the delivery of exceptional customer service to employers/plan sponsors, plan participants, and Sentry field and home office personnel. Executes 401(k) business objectives while adhering to federal and state regulations.

What You'll Do

This individual will be responsible for developing a customer-centric culture while delivering exceptional customer service to employers, plan sponsors, plan participants, and Sentry associates. It'll be important to execute 401(k) business objectives, while adhering to federal and state regulations. Below are more duties of this role:

  • Manage and provide technical direction on many aspects of participant recordkeeping, plan administration, compliance, and general reporting for customers including the sales operations, other 401(k) and Sentry departments, collection agencies, claims, and attorneys for the 401(k) areas.
  • Function as a strategic partner with significant responsibility to organize work to achieve goals for the business unit.
  • Oversee management as they implement and execute strategies within their teams.
  • Proactively analyze, recommend, initiate, and communicate programs and processes that promote the achievement of cost efficiencies and profitable premium growth.
  • Research and evaluate the 401(k) industry/market for opportunities to drive growth and make recommendations on changes to processes and procedures to ensure Sentry's competitive position.
  • Drive the selection, utilization and enhancements of systems that will streamline, simplify and build a best in class customer experience, while collaborating with Information Technology and vendors.
  • Develop long and short range strategic plans that promote continued sustainable business unit growth, profitability and continually improve the value of the overall customer experience.

What it Takes

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 8 or more years of related work experience.
  • Previous experience working in 401(k) operations with emphasis in customer service, plan services administration, and/or compliance.
  • Previous successful management experience to select, develop, and motivate staff.
  • Ability to react to Commercial Lines needs with creative and agile actions to support customers, profitable growth and expense control.
  • 401(k) credentials from ASPPA, NAPA, CEBS or similar a plus.
