Position Overview

The Revenue Cycle Operations Improvement Analyst is an expert in revenue cycle processes, order handling, management tools, systems and is an active thought partner who ensures appropriate use of technology in Revenue and Finance operations. This role acts as an intermediary between cross-functional partners such as IT, Finance, Patient Access, and Patient Financial Services to collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual design by using appropriate tools and models.

The Revenue Cycle Operations Improvement Analyst role requires independent judgement on process, approach, and methodology in providing deliverables that inform company decisions and strategy. They perform a wide range of quantitative and qualitative analyses to help inform department decisions and strategy, work closely with leadership within the revenue cycle functions to develop ways to analyze and report key operational measures, develop tools to target performance measures and plans to achieve these. This position will develop, manage, and undertake special analyses as required.

This position provides primary support to the Revenue Cycle Teams including Laboratory Support Systems, Patient Access, Patient Financial Services, Systems, Contracting and Credentialing, and Quality Teams.

Essential Duties

  • Lead and support various projects that require independent judgement on process, approach, and methodology in providing deliverables that inform department decisions and strategy.
  • Collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual design (using appropriate tools and models) from which applications and solutions are developed.
  • Maintain clear and complete documentation/workflows on all projects and processes this position is involved with.
  • Maintain visibility on systematic change progress and deadlines, coordinate needed process changes in accordance with systematic developments and serve as Revenue Cycle representative and subject matter expert in meetings, projects, product selection and testing on systematic implementations.
  • Facilitate meetings, present and support project updates, provide summaries, and results in group settings.
  • Proactively review and analyze existing processes as well as identify exceptions.
  • Develop and provide reporting measurement on process change regarding expected and resulting Return on Investment.
  • Provide proposal and present solutions to area management and compose change requests.
  • Proactively identify and report obstacles, challenges, and delays in progress to area management.
  • Provide weekly reporting on project status and progress toward upcoming changes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on workflows that impact Revenue Cycle, such as optimization projects, new product launches, as well as provide continued support for current products.
  • Provide development, support, and serve as a resource for tools, reports and processes owned by this position.
  • Provide research, perspective and contribute content for online reference tools (IE: Wiki/Nucleus), standard operating procedures, tip sheets, training materials and other documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality on upcoming changes, products, decisions, employee concerns and order related info in accordance with HIPAA regulations and other compliance needs.
  • Ensure that all activities and efforts conducted, comply with the Exact Sciences Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to interact and build strong working relationships with customers, as well as peers, at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing workload and circumstances effectively.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to travel 5% of working time away from work location. May include overnight/weekend travel.
  • This role utilizes Lean Six-sigma approaches. Green belt certification is required within the first year.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • You will be required to successfully complete an assessment showing understanding of Exact Sciences Epic processes necessary to the job functions with a score of 80% or higher. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, information management, or related degree; or Associates degree and 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree or high school degree/general education diploma and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a medical/healthcare environment, with strong demonstrated knowledge of enhancing IT systems and Laboratory Order Entry.
  • Functional knowledge of project management concepts.
  • Understanding of Lean and Six Sigma Principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in information systems or related field.
  • In depth user and design experience with Epic and OnBase applications.
  • Project management experience.
  • Microsoft applications certifications.
  • Demonstrated process improvement experience.
  • Lean and Six Sigma certifications; Green belt or higher.
  • Some knowledge of medical billing processes.

Salary Range:

$60,000.00 - $97,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
