Collections Specialist

Gorman & Company is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented full time Collections Specialist to join our team in Milwaukee, WI. This is a hybrid position and will include both remote and on-site work. The Collections Specialist is responsible for managing delinquent accounts, communicating with tenants, and ensuring compliance with all legal requirements. The ideal candidate will have excellent follow-up skills, strong people skills, and a deep understanding of Wisconsin landlord-tenant law.

As a Collections Specialist, you will:
  • Manage delinquent accounts and ensure timely payment.
  • Communicate with tenants to resolve payment issues and answer questions.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements, including Wisconsin landlord-tenant law.
  • Read and interpret ledgers to identify delinquent accounts.
  • Prepare and send collection letters and notices.
  • File evictions paperwork electronically through the court system.
  • Work with legal counsel to file legal actions when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of all collection activities.
  • Hybrid position: remote and on site.
Collections Specialist Qualifications:
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Strong people skills and ability to communicate effectively with tenants.
  • Deep understanding of Wisconsin landlord-tenant law.
  • Ability to read and interpret ledgers.
  • Experience in collections or related field needed.
  • Computer skills and experience with MS Office.
  • Ability to travel to properties several times a week.
