Under the supervision of the Administrative Specialist for the Center for Technology-Enhanced Nursing (CTEN), the Clinical Skills Technician will primarily be responsible for supporting nursing faculty, clinical instructors, and students by preparing the clinical skills environment to accurately represent a clinical setting using real and simulated clinical supplies and equipment. This position will oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of the CTEN mid-fidelity mannequins, including setups and breakdowns of human patient simulator equipment, partial task trainers, medical equipment, and specialized simulation training software during clinical training and assessment programs. No two days will look alike in this role.

CTEN is a 5,000-square-foot space that includes 4 skills labs, 2 assessment labs, a simulated hospital environment, a simulated clinic environment, and a simulated home environment designed to support faculty and clinical instructors by offering students opportunities to explore and learn the role of the professional nurse in a variety of unique care settings.

CTEN typically operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm and core work hours are between these hours will be set upon hire. Work hours will need to be shifted to meet operation needs and occasional work in the evenings and/or weekends may be required. Scheduling deviations will be discussed in advance with the supervisor.

Responsibilities: Assists with or supports the design, development, and enhancement of instructional activities, programs, and curricula. Utilizes effective educational methodologies and technologies to meet organizational and learner needs.
  • 5% Assists with the design and development of engaging, effective learning experiences which may be face-to-face, blended, and/or online
  • 10% Contributes to researching, designing, and/or acquiring learning resources, technologies, materials, and/or processes to support learning
  • 10% Assists with providing basic training and technical support to learners in settings such as classrooms, labs, clinics, and distance learning mediums
  • 20% Provides consultation, training, and/or support for learning technology tools and platforms
  • 10% Analyzes, tests, troubleshoots, resolves issues, and provides feedback regarding learning technologies
  • 20% Provides support for collecting, organizing, interpreting, and disseminating data to identify instructional program needs and enhance effectiveness
  • 5% Provides support for faculty development and engagement programs and activities
  • 20% Maintains, calibrates, and sets up skills lab and simulation equipment according to established policies and procedures

Experience with computer technology, audiovisual, or simulation technology

Preferred:
One year of healthcare experience as a CNA, EMT, Paramedic, RN, LPN, Medical Assistant, or similar healthcare experience

It is anticipated this position requires most work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location and has been designated as a position that is essential to School of Nursing operations.

Depending on Qualifications
The expected salary for this position starts at a rate of $50,000 annually. Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications.
