What's Available:
  • 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week)
  • Shift: Monday-Friday, Day Shift
  • Hours: 4:00 AM-12:30 PM or 4:30 AM-1:00 PM
  • No weekends, No Holidays
  • Location: Main Campus - La Crosse
  • Department: Emergency Department

What you need:
  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • 2 years minimum previous experience in an inventory or supply chain-related role.

Job Description:

This position is responsible for the daily flow, operations and maintenance of hospital and clinic departments, procedural instrumentation and supply inventory. This role works collaboratively with Clinical Management, Clinicians, Central Services, Purchasing, Supply Chain and vendors to facilitate operational logistics and inventory levels to meet the needs of the patient and provider while adhering to fiscal and regulatory guidelines. This role is responsible for ordering, maintaining, tracking of current and planning of future supply and equipment needs.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Maintains, troubleshoots, and tests equipment to determine if equipment is functioning properly and facilitates equipment repairs as needed.
2. Utilizes independent judgment to initiate changes of contents and supply levels of designated specialty carts, custom kits, and patient room supplies, forms, equipment, and instruments.
3. Manages recalls of patient care supplies and monitors for expired product
4. In collaboration with the supply chain departments, works to find efficiencies within the supply aspect of the department by analyzing usage data from ERP systems.

5. Coordinates with 3rd party vendors to ensure services and materials are provided as needed for patient care.
6. Demonstrates initiative by contributing, developing, supporting, and carrying out new ideas and methods to improve the everyday functioning of the inventory process by utilizing multiple electronic inventory systems and reports.
7. Receive, stage, deliver and stock patient areas with, not limited to, linen, dietary products, mail, equipment, and medical surgical supplies.
8. Is responsible link between supply chain and patient care, for ensuring the department(s) has the materials needed for patient care and for communication to appropriate department staff and leadership when there are shortage situations, substitution products, trials or other supply chain scenarios that may impact patient care.

9. Collaborates with Clinical Management and Value Analysis Teams/coordinator on new product evaluations, standardization, product quality and product technical aptitude of staff.

10. Develops analytical tools to analyze inventory levels needed to maintain adequate levels for services rendered.

11. Acts as a liaison between the Clinical area, Purchasing and Accounting department to ensure receipt of products in a timely manner, cost of expenses and proper tracking of inventory.

12. Consults with Clinical Management on specialty item purchase requests to determine if clinically necessary or items in stock should be utilized and is responsible for data gathering and budgetary tasks to ensure analytical reports are available to make sounds financial decisions.

13. Performs other job-related responsibilities as requested.

Education and Learning:
REQUIRED
High School Diploma or equivalency

DESIRED

Associates or Bachelors degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or a related field

Work Experience:
REQUIRED
2 years minimum previous experience in an inventory or supply chain related role.

DESIRED

5 years previous experience in healthcare in an inventory or supply related role. Familiarity with critical/surgical equipment, instruments and patient care areas.

1 year previous experience in working with Supply Chain software

Intermediate experience using EXCEL
