Children's Miracle NetwoHospitals Specialist you will primarily focus on prospect cultivation and donor solicitation on behalf of CMN Hospitals.

What's Available:

  • full time, 1.0 FTE

  • Schedule: primarily days Monday-Friday with the unique exception to work weekends/ evenings as needed based on events

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business related field

  • 3-4 years of experience in a business setting

  • 1-3 years successful involvement with fundraising in a non-profit sector.

  • Strong communication and ability to be compassionate with families, patients and donors.

Job Description:

The CMN Hospitals Specialist will primarily focus on prospect cultivation and donor solicitation on behalf of CMN Hospitals. The CMN Hospitals Specialist will also partner to administer ongoing fundraising activities and major special events for the purpose of raising money to support prioritized Gundersen Health System pediatric services and CMN Hospitals identified programs, furthering the community service mission of Gundersen Health System, sustaining a visible presence in the service area, adding value and customer service benefits to the patient experience, enhancing the marketing for pediatric specialty services, and being the primary source of pediatric gift revenues for Gundersen Medical Foundation.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Serves as a representative of CMN Hospitals and Gundersen Medical Foundation in managing donors, sponsors and volunteers to coordinate and complete fundraising campaigns, special events, cause-related marketing promotions, merchandise sales and other projects to raise money for pediatric programs identified by Gundersen Medical Foundation philanthropy cabinet and executive leaders.

2. Serves as a member of the Foundation team to establish and achieve fundraising goals related to pediatric initiatives.

3. Works with and trains volunteers to perform a variety of activities in support of CMN Hospitals.

4. Maintains professionalism in relationships with Foundation coworkers, CMN Hospitals committee members, media representatives, Gundersen Health System departments and other involved community members to create enthusiasm and participation for the consistent growth in fundraising and awareness for CMN and Gundersen Health System pediatric services.

5. Communicates with families, patients and donors in a compassionate, confidential and professional manner while responding to requests in a timely fashion and providing program information to achieve consistent and essential customer service and to acquire their participation in print and media efforts.

6. Engages members of the Foundation philanthropy staff, Gundersen Health System leadership and marketing services staff regarding the execution of solicitations, programs and events. Contributes to provide interesting and creative writing for internal and external publications, personalized recognition pieces, effective solicitation programs, press releases and collateral promotional materials to appeal to a broad base of donors and increased levels of support for prioritized pediatric causes.

7. Participates in program management and decision-making processes with Foundation administrative and leadership special events committees to achieve philanthropic potential for Gundersen's investment in CMN Hospitals activities.

8. Represents CMN and Gundersen Health Systemin tours and presentations, interviews, and external events to further the community service of Gundersen Health System and provide a sustained visible presence in the service area.

9. Utilizes various Gundersen Health System and Foundation resources and departments to assist with managing CMN Hospitals office functions, including: accounting/purchasing, meeting coordination, supplies, and facilities; creates an organized system that responds effectively to a high volume of internal and external customer requests.

10. Complies with all Ethical Standards as written by The Association of Fundraising Professionals Code of Ethics.

11. Performs other job-related responsibilities as requested.

Education and Learning:

REQUIRED

Bachelor's degree in a business related field

Work Experience:

REQUIRED

3-4 years of experience in a business setting and 1-3 years successful involvement in fundraising and/or public relations in the non-profit sector.

DESIRED

3-4 years of experience fundraising, event planning and coordination.
