2nd Shift/Full-Time: Monday through Thursday - 3:15 pm to 1:15 am
With experience, make up to $29.37 per hour plus $2.00 shift differential for working 2nd shift.
Summary
Performs dimensional, visual, or mechanical inspection of components, subassemblies, and assemblies to ensure conformance to defined specifications and standards.
Essential duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to inspect complex or precision components and assemblies
  • Check layout of tooling, dies, gauges, and templates.
  • Inspect purchased parts and materials.
  • Perform calibration of micrometers, calipers, gauges, tooling and templates per established procedures.
  • Qualify new products, processes and materials including ISIR and PPAP requirements.
  • RMA process support from a quality and design perspective.
  • Identify, process, and assist with root cause investigation for nonconformances.
  • Disposition obvious nonconformances requiring rework or repair.
  • Confer with or refer critical inspection issues and scrap dispositions to supervisor.
  • Interface with suppliers, manufacturing personnel, and customers.
  • Participate in and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Associate's degree from technical college in related field; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five years previous work experience in metal fabrication.
  • Education or training which demonstrates working knowledge of Microsoft Office Basics (Outlook, Excel, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Certificates in CMM software (basic usage), CMM Programming, and/or ASQ Certified Quality Technician are preferred

  • Completion of D&S Manufacturing Quality System ISO Procedures
  • Completion of D&S Manufacturing Quality Department ISO Procedures
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel as well as talk and hear.
  • Regularly is required to stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance.
  • Regularly required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
