Salary Range: $100,000.00/Yr. - $125,000.00/Yr.

Overview:

Connection has a fantastic opportunity through our Technical Staffing division for a Unix/Network Administrator in Nashville, TN. This is a permanent opportunity that is Hybrid and offers outstanding benefits.

We are looking for a talented individual who is proficient in Unix systems administration and networking to fulfill a unique role that encompasses both areas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our Unix-based systems, with a focus on Oracle Solaris and Linux (including Ubuntu), as well as handling networking and infrastructure tasks as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and administer Unix-based systems, including Oracle Solaris, Linux, and Ubuntu, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Unix servers and applications, including patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Monitor system performance and resource utilization, identifying and resolving issues to maintain high availability and efficiency.
  • Implement and maintain networking infrastructure, including Cisco routers and switches, to support our business operations.
  • Troubleshoot server tasks and networking issues, diagnosing and resolving connectivity, performance, and security issues as they arise.
  • Perform general infrastructure tasks as needed, such as server provisioning, storage management, and backup and recovery procedures.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members and departments to support project initiatives and resolve technical challenges.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve our systems and processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5vyears of experience in Unix systems administration and networking roles.
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux operating systems, with hands-on experience in Oracle Solaris, Linux (various distributions), and Ubuntu.
  • Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols, with experience working with Cisco routers and switches.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot server tasks and networking issues, diagnosing and resolving complex technical problems.
  • Experience with general infrastructure tasks, including server provisioning, storage management, and backup and recovery procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, RHCSA, or equivalent are a plus.
