Overview

As a Sr. Audio Visual Engineer, you will create and modify control system software for integrated Audio Video Systems by converting requirements into a functional user interface and control code. Additionally, you'll collaborate with key stakeholders to meet unique requirements and work with hardware and software systems and platforms delivering robust capabilities. You will install control programs and touch panel design onsite, offsite, and remotely.

YOUR IMPACT

A Sr. Audio Visual Engineer will be responsible for presentations, Sales Engineering support, BOM creation assistance, SOW assistance along with planning and designing solutions for AV systems.

The essential functions of this position include:

  • Be available as a pre-sales resource for sales.
  • Be an escalation point for Engineers and Sr. Engineers
  • Ability to troubleshoot multi-vendor issues
  • Lead a Project team
  • Be current with vendor offerings and technology
  • Ability to assess Customer environment and make recommendations.
  • Serve the Customer to ePlus' standards
  • Create, read, and interpret AV systems drawing sets (Elevations, RCP, Plan, Signal Flow)
  • Audio DSP programming. (Biamp, Q-SYS, Shure)
  • Microphone array configuration and IP transport (Biamp, Sennheiser, Shure, Dante, AES67)
  • Design and Program Graphical User Interfaces (Cisco, Crestron, Extron)
  • Design and Program control systems (Crestron, Extron)
  • Configure building and enterprise management (Fusion, XiO Cloud)
  • Create new control system modules and interfaces.
  • Configure ethernet switches for AV protocols on customer or standalone networks (Netgear M4250, Cisco)
  • Configure video teleconferencing systems (Cisco, Poly, Logi, Neat)
  • Add room-based systems into conferencing platform (Webex Control Hub, Microsoft Teams, Zoom)
  • Perform system commissioning, final testing of code and end-user turnover, training.
  • Perform diagnostic troubleshooting, quality control checks, firmware updates and coordinate RMA replacement and repairs.
  • Create end-user documentation, user manuals, training guides.
  • Work with customer IT team for networking requirements, virtual controllers.
  • Document project and equipment details, checklists, design changes and other data.
  • Work with Engineering and Project management to improve system designs and selection of standardized products.
  • Ability to diagnose previously installed AV systems, networks and restore to a working state.
  • Ability to drive to multiple customer sites as needed in Maryland, D.C and Northern Virginia.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 4 year College degree preferred
  • 7+ years of hands on experience in IT
  • Crestron SIMPL control system programming preferred.
  • Crestron VT Pro-e GUI Design preferred.
  • Crestron toolbox maintenance and diagnostics preferred.
  • Multiple industry recognized certifications preferred as follows:
    • Biamp TesiraFORTE certification
    • Biamp Server / Server-IO certification
  • Ability to work independently without supervision to get entire system operational and stable for customer handover.
  • Excellent customer service skills on phone and in person.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Ability to strategize and create solutions timely.
  • Proficient with test and calibration equipment and programing languages.
  • Proficient in uploading and downloading software in embedded systems.
  • Proficient in control system design (Crestron, AMX, Extron, QSC).
  • Must be fully knowledgeable and able to design, plan, implement and support IT solutions using two or more of the following technologies:
    • Networking
    • Collaboration (Messaging)
    • VoIP, SIP, RTP, CoS, QoS, Wireshark, Webex Control Hub, Cisco end-point management
    • Video Conferencing
    • Security
POSITION SPECIFICS

The base salary range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $90,000 and $125,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions and discretionary bonuses, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
