Description

Bring your technical acumen and exceptional customer service skills to our newly created Microsoft 365 Administrator position. This is an excellent opportunity to play a critical role on a high-performing, experienced team of information technology and security professionals. As our Microsoft 365 Administrator, you'll manage, maintain, and optimize our Microsoft 365 environment, including SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Exchange. You'll also oversee system health, application configuration, new feature integration and education, and issue resolution.

This position is based at our state-of-the-art headquarters in Madison, Wisconsin. You'll have a hybrid schedule, working both in the office and remotely.

Job Responsibilities

On a day-to-day basis, you may do the following.

  • Oversee our suite of Microsoft 365 tools, including SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Exchange.
  • Manage various administration portals within our Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and data access within the cloud-based Microsoft 365 platform in collaboration with team members.
  • Provide expert technical support for Microsoft 365 services, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Enhance technology solutions and contribute to business success in collaboration with team members.
  • Monitor the Microsoft 365 environment by reviewing system dashboards, service health reports, and notifications.
  • Stay informed about upcoming feature releases and changes to user experience.
  • Implement and manage configurations for new features, ensuring seamless end user adoption.
  • Communicate feature updates to users and support staff.
  • Help users learn about and adopt new Microsoft 365 solutions.
  • Create and/or direct users to Microsoft 365 informational videos, blogs, and documentation.
  • Explore ways to scale Microsoft's offerings based on business requirements.
  • Resolve operational and security issues.
  • Provide top-tier escalation support as required.
  • Participate in business operations solution projects that could be solved by leveraging Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Help with information security and compliance initiatives.
  • Document architecture, procedures, and processes.

    Qualifications

    A highly qualified candidate will possess the following.

    Education and Professional Experience

    • Knowledge equivalent to a degree in information systems or a related field.
    • Seven or more years of experience administering and supporting Microsoft applications and services.
    • Microsoft 365 certifications are a plus.

    Technical Knowledge and Experience

    • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Exchange Online.
    • Proficient in user management, data security, and governance administration portals, such as Microsoft Azure and Purview.
    • Experience automating administrative tasks and diagnosing issues through PowerShell scripts and audit queries.
    • Proficient in creating user-friendly training materials, including instructional guides, blog posts, and video tutorials.

      General Skills

      • Ability to provide a high level of customer service.
      • Ability to perform job functions with minimal direction and supervision.
      • Proven ability to reliably and successfully manage and complete small to medium projects.
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to adapt styles to match both a technical and nontechnical audience.
      • Effective interpersonal skills exemplified by initiative, courtesy, diplomacy, positive attitude, professionalism, and appropriate business ethics.
