Advanced Assembly, Inc. (AAI), located in University Research Park on the west side of Madison, is adding a Production Planner/Scheduler position to our well-trained and experienced staff. Job Description: The Production Planner/Scheduler provides leadership, coordinates, directs, and is actively involved in the daily planning and scheduling plant operations. This position works closely with the production, inventory, and purchasing departments to ensure the resource utilization is maximized while meeting customer demands.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: (Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time).

  • With the collaboration of Program Management, utilize customer forecasts to develop a comprehensive master schedule to provide a 3–6 month view of customer demand in order to proactively plan for fluctuations that impact operations.
  • Develop production build plan(s) that maximize production resources (equipment/direct labor). 
  • Evaluate raw materials availability (MRP) and equipment/resource capacity as part of the work order planning and release process.
  • Coordinate with production leadership when overtime is required to meet demand.
  • Monitor daily production outputs and work order start and due dates.
  • Employ problem solving techniques to mitigate production disruptions and productivity problems as they arise.
  • Coordinate with production, program management and finance in support of the month end close process.
  • Frequently analysis work center capacity using ERP modules (specifically QAD) to meet production needs.
  • Communicate proactively with program management regarding production job status and estimated completion.
  • Drive improvements in scheduling processes resulting in increased productivity and product flow.
  • Function as the AAI ERP champion to be the operations “subject-matter expert” for QAD, support/recommend QAD upgrades and enhancements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields such as production planning, scheduling, project management, business administration or supply chain, associate degree considered with applicable experience.
  • 3-7 years of relevant experience (EMS Industry a Plus) in production planning, scheduling, project management, business administration, supply chain.
  • Ability to read, speak and understand both verbal and written instructions in the English language.
  • Essential experience with QAD or similar ERP systems; integrating and utilizing modules for production planning, included knowledge of the capacity planning process.
  • Orchestrate materials requirements planning (MRP).
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate information across multiple departments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
