Overview

***Openings on 2nd and 3rd shift***

Provide support to the Manufacturing group in producing customer defined quality products. Position is actively involved with associates at all levels and requires general supervision. General duties of position include promote quality principles, resolution of quality issues, providing support in metrology, auditing, and data collection.

Responsibilities
    Follow inspection and quality plans using a variety of measuring instruments such as CMM, Calipers, Height Gage, Micrometer and gages to ensure quality work being performed is to customer standards.
  • Responsible for first article inspections ensuring compliance with control parameters and specifications. Perform in-process inspections and data collection including, run charts, layouts, & other inspection as required.
  • Read and interpret blueprints/drawings and be able to calculate tolerances for inspection.
  • Collect data for capability studies using inspection tools, including Gage R&R's.
  • Internal auditing
  • Possess leadership skills that aid in the ability to oversee others in absence of Area Leader.
  • Document quality issues.
  • Promote quality awareness throughout manufacturing areas.
  • Provide project/team support.
  • Collect customer required quality records for shipments.
  • Provide training and guidance to associates.
  • Provide continuous improvement suggestions.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience and Certifications and Licenses
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) supplemented by course work in statistical process control, quality control measures or related areas; and one to three years related experience and/or training in quality assurance procedures; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience on CMM, SmartScope or CAD systems is considered a plus. ASQ Certification for Mechanical Inspector or Quality Technician preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work effectively with tools and equipment such as precision measurement equipment, CMM, Smartscope, computers & misc. office equipment.
  • Possess ability to communicate clearly both verbally and written.
  • Possess basic computer skills to include data entry to move effectively from screen to screen entering and/or retrieving work order detail, part numbers, part counts, etc.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with and ability to use basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, Infor, Mini Tab, and SharePoint.
  • Detail and accuracy critical
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working and public relations to promote quality mindset, advocating team concept and participative management style.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with diverse personalities and individuals at various levels within and outside the organization.
