Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Custodial Services Program Manager, this position is responsible for developing, supervising, and maintaining a comprehensive custodial program within the UWM Student Union. The Student Union is a 330,000 sq. ft. facility which traffics 10,000+ patrons daily and hosts 14,000+ meetings/events annually.
The Custodial Services Supervisor hires, trains, and supervises a diverse custodial workforce. This position schedules staff, makes work assignments, and supervises full-time custodians, student employees, and other temporary staff.
This position will work primarily 2nd shift hours (2:30pm - 11:00pm) on weekdays, but may be required to work other shifts depending upon staffing and events.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience with custodial related duties with a working knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and chemicals
Work experience in a supervisory or lead worker role, demonstrating the ability to coordinate people and resources
Ability to work 2nd shift hours from 2:30pm to 11:00pm
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supervising a custodial or maintenance operation
Experience with staff scheduling and developing a staffing plan that involves seasonal changes
Experience training staff
Knowledge of floor care equipment and processes

This position has a starting salary of no less than $50,000/annual. Salary will
be determined by the finalist’s experience, education, training, internal/
external pay equity, and other factors.
