Major Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the profitable growth, loss, and operating income targets of an assigned market and oversees the development and execution of profitable growth plans.

* As President of Aurora Health Care Metro Inc. hospitals, provides leadership, direction and strategy across the assigned market. Ensures effective and efficient delivery of a positive patient experience across entities within the market, as well as compliance with established objectives to achieve the strategic goals of the organization. Acts as a champion for quaternary and tertiary hospital program planning, utilization, development and growth.

* Ensures performance excellence in service and clinical quality. Accountable for the development, implementation, and monitoring of strategies to provide quality clinical services, control costs, optimize revenue opportunities, and engage caregivers and physicians.

* Drives service integration and collaboration within the market. Works with other markets and integrating functions to achieve collaboration and balance across Aurora. Ensures the integration and rationalization of services accelerates Aurora's growth and the success of the organization's long-term strategies and objectives.

* Responsible for the profitable growth of the market and oversees the development and execution of profitable growth plans. Responsible for profit and loss within the patient service market and meeting growth and operating income targets.

* Ensures the market adopts, executes and shares best practice standards for system clinical programs and to achieve efficient and effective quality service, patient loyalty and caregiver engagement.

* Maintains a strong pulse on market intelligence and relationships with key providers of similar services within the market.

* Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.

* Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.

* Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to the organization's business.

* Responsible for taking an active leadership role in non-profit or community based organizations by providing community service hours or serving in professional organizations. Also, encourages team members to participate in these same community activities.


Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

* None Required.


Education Required:

* Master's Degree in Health Care Administration or related field.


Experience Required:

* Typically requires 10 years of management experience in health care administration that includes experiences within a large integrated health care system overseeing significant operations, directing the financial performance and ensuring the integration of services provided.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

* Experience developing and implementing plans which successfully integrate clinical services while meeting regional and system goals/objectives over a multi-year period.

* Extensive experience driving best practice standards, and ensuring collaboration across business lines and functions.

* Expert level knowledge of growth and business development strategies.

* Significant experience with detailed financial analysis, budgeting, developing capital and operational budgets, and managing medical center operations. Skills in assessing risk using financial, statistical and economic data.

* Thorough understanding of health care delivery functions and financing systems.

* Expertise in motivating, leading, and problem solving in a complex organization.

* Skills and demonstrated experience in establishing excellent working relationships and strategic partnering with various teams and executives across a large organization to achieve a shared vision, values and objectives. Ability to function in a fast-paced, matrix management environment.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively and collaborate with various levels of leadership within the market, region and system.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

* Travel outside of workplace is required and thus incumbent is exposed to weather and road conditions.

* Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.

* Exposed to normal office environment.
