Title: Director of Operations - Commercial Services Business Unit

Location: Southeastern Wisconsin

Reports to: Vice President

Status: Full Time, Salaried


Position Overview: The Director of Operations for GO Riteway's Commercial Services Division is responsible for providing strategic management and leadership across the business unit. The Director will be responsible for leading the business unit's alignment with company strategies, overseeing operational performance across assigned commercial service terminals, and maintaining strong client relationships. The Director will provide leadership to foster a positive employee relations environment and ensure compliance with company policies while achieving key performance metrics.


Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Services Operations: Lead a team of operations managers and terminal staff to ensure efficient operation of contracted transportation services, maintaining a focus on safety, customer service, and profitability.
  • Safety: Ensure safety remains the top priority in your business unit, implementing education programs and fostering a culture of accountability for safety behavior.
  • Employee Relations: Cultivate a positive employee relations climate, collaborating with HR professionals to address employee concerns and enhance employee engagement and retention.
  • Customer Relations: Maintain excellent relationships with commercial clients, ensuring outstanding customer service and high levels of satisfaction.
  • P&L Management: Drive revenue and profitability goals for the commercial services division, collaborating with company leadership to develop strategies, goals, and budgets.
  • Management Leadership: Participate as a member of the Director level management team, contributing to strategic planning and business development initiatives.

Direct Reports: 4-6 Operations Managers

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a business or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of business experience with P&L management and experience managing other managers.
  • Strong managerial and interpersonal leadership skills, with the ability to drive high performance within the regional team.
  • Experience in the transportation industry preferred, with a background in challenging, fast-paced operating environments considered advantageous.
  • Candidates must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License.
