Responsibilities
  • Responsible for achieving student loan goals through development and execution of Educational Lending program strategies and tactics.
  • Build a strong sales and service culture that motivates and creates ownership for team members to offer exceptional member service, build deep member relationships and deliver student loan goals.
  • Develop and maintain an outbound calling strategy to support achievement of student loan origination goals.
  • Develop and implement individual and department performance feedback, metrics and scorecards and ensure celebration occurs.
  • Provide feedback during business planning process to help the organization determine annual student loan goals.
  • Consistently demonstrate and articulate UW Credit Union's Core Values and member value proposition through this work.
  • Guide the continual development of operational related activities and innovation of products, programs, and services.
  • Understand industry trends, organizational needs, and vendor offerings to aid in strategic planning of the Educational Lending department.
  • Leverage the use of data and analytics insights as a basis for informed decision making to improve sales, operations, and the member experience.
  • Maintain a competitive student loan product offering, including but not limited to rates, fees, and program features in the markets we serve.
  • Collaborate with Community Partnerships and Branch management teams in support of Financial Education and Financial Mentor programs.
  • Partner with Marketing and VP of Consumer Lending on promotion plan and strategies to increase consumer awareness.
  • Create and implement business development strategies that create strong campus and/or community relationships.
  • Responsible for legislative monitoring of federal and state regulations in all areas of education lending and collaborating with Risk Management to implement department policies and procedures to ensure compliance and consistent performance.
  • Continually evaluate loan quality and exception requests, ensuring that all applications and requests are accurate, complete and in the member's best interest.
  • Understand educational lending origination and servicing systems and identify opportunities for system efficiencies and member-experience improvements. Partner with Lending Systems to facilitate enhancements or customization requests to vendors.
  • Maintain an active understanding of current and upcoming credit union and industry technology and processes to ensure that we are providing a high-quality, member-centric experience.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 4-5 years of experience in Consumer Lending or educational lending preferred
  • 4-5 years of experience in a leadership role required
  • Demonstrated analytical, problemsolving and leadership skills
  • Ability to foster a high engaging team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
