Position Overview

The IT Asset Manager - Software will serve as a lead for our IT Software Asset Management (SAM) practice. This involves managing and optimizing the procurement, maintenance, utilization and disposal or reclamation of software and entitlements. This role will assist in forming procurement strategies to optimize technology spend across the organization. They will drive long-term value and innovation from strategic vendors as well as build, maintain and improve positive relationships with vendors and internal partners, such as IT leadership, Finance and Legal. The IT Asset Manager will work closely with IT Security, Strategy and Finance to forecast upcoming renewals and new purchases, and report cost savings opportunities and license compliance risks.

This is a hybrid position; working arrangement will be a blend of onsite work in our office location and remote.

Essential Duties

include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for tracking company assets to oversee quality control throughout their lifecycles.

  • Plan, monitor, and record all software licenses to ensure compliance with vendor contracts.

  • Utilize best practices and inventory tools to audit and analyze software license utilization.

  • Negotiate software contracts and licensing renewals.

  • Manage software requests to ensure license compliance and rationalization of software.

  • Responsible for implementing and managing SAM tools.

  • Adhere to policy, contracting and procurement processes.

  • Conduct periodic vendor reviews.

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

  • Positive, self-motivated individual who can complete goals independently.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; or high school degree/general education diploma and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.

  • 5+ years of IT Asset Management experience.

  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ITIL Foundation Certification.

  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment (including SOX, HIPAA).

  • Familiar with Microsoft licensing and renewals.

Salary Range:

$85,000.00 - $135,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
