The School of Human Ecology (SoHE) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW-Madison) is seeking two early career academic advisors to join our expanding undergraduate Advising & Career Center (ACC) team. The multidiscipline academic programs in SoHE strive to understand ourselves and the people around us in ways that make us happier, healthier and better prepared to change the world. The ACC is a supportive team that provides high touch advising to promote the academic, personal, and professional development of students. The primary responsibilities of the positions are to provide comprehensive academic advising to a growing number of undergraduate students. A joint search will be conducted for a general and a design-focused Academic Advisor.
Academic Advisor - Seeking an early career professional who will maintain an advising caseload covering multiple Human Ecology majors and assigned administrative tasks to contribute to our ACC goals. Applications should clearly describe their interest in the position and the Human Ecology academic programs. This position will be supervised by the Academic Advising Assistant Director.
Design-focused Academic Advisor - Seeking an early career academic advisor to focus on a growing number of current and prospective students interested in our Design Studies majors and certificates -including a new Design, Innovation, and Society major to be launched in fall 2024. Applicants should describe a genuine enthusiasm for supporting the academic development of design/creative students, which may include prior education in a design or arts program, work within a creative discipline/organization, or track record of supporting the arts and creative fields. This position will be supervised by the Academic Advising Manager.

Required knowledge or experiences:
We welcome applicants who have one or more years of experience working with people in a developmental or supportive role, for example student services, teaching, counseling, human resources, and coaching.

The starting annual base salary for this position is listed as $45,000 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
