Job Summary:

Coordinates the non-clinical and delegated management components of the Health Unit Coordinator Department of the Patient Care Services division at Froedtert Hospital. Leads day to day operations for optimal performance of non-nursing activities that support care delivery in the inpatient care unit that includes but may not be limited to clerical support functions. Has direct accountability for the management of inpatient Health Unit Coordinators staff. Responsibilities include but not necessarily limited to hiring, performance appraisals, bi-weekly timecard process completion, leading department staff meetings and operational management to achieve department goals and strategic outcomes. Collaborates with Director of Nursing Resource Management - South Region and the inpatient Nurse Managers/Assistant Nurse Managers to problem-solve and assess the ongoing clerical needs of the inpatient units. Collaborates with Director of Nursing Resource Management - South Region and the H.U.C. Staff Educator to identify training needs of direct reports. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: Minimum of 2 years supervisory, management and/or informal leadership experience is required.
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Experience in an acute healthcare setting is preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Management, Health Care Administration, Business, Management, or Organizational Leadership or related field is required. Current enrollment in a baccalaureate program with a defined completion date and an additional 5 years of health care management experience may substitute for the education requirement.
EDUCATION PREFERRED: Graduate degree preferred.

Effective planning, organizing, delegating and time management skills. personal and professional integrity that includes the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of personnel related information. Ability to work effectively and meet established goals and objectives. Strong analytical skills, ability to anticipate and solve problems. Ability to engage, influence and motivate. Proficiency in use of computer hardware and software including word processing, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel spreadsheets.
