The ideal candidate is a multifaceted and versatile Graphic Designer with experience designing packaging and the skills to execute projects from concept to completion in various media, both print and digital, while maintaining consistent brand identity across touch points. The Graphic Designer supports the Marketing and Sales teams with creative design and layout of packaging graphics, sell materials, in-store merchandising and point-of-purchase displays, print brochures, digital advertising and consumer promotions. This position works closely with members of the Creative Services, Digital, Marketing and Sales Teams. Candidates should be proficient in Adobe Illustrator, PhotoShop and InDesign and have a minimum of 5 years of experience with proven successes in the development of innovative designs that deliver to brand strategies and business objectives. MEASURES OF SUCCESS
  • Interacts closely with Creative team to drive design results by communicating ideas that inspire, inform and captivate target audiences.
  • Participates in and contributes to brainstorming sessions, creative intake meetings, concept meetings and design review meetings as needed.
  • Conceptualization, design, maintenance, and fulfillment of print and electronic media for Central Specialty Pet brands and partners with an emphasis on package design, collateral, consumer promotions, in-store visual merchandising, and digital and print advertising.
  • Maintain consistent brand identity across touchpoints.
  • Responsible for overall quality of assigned creative projects.
  • Prioritizes projects, optimizes production, ensures budgets and timelines are met.
  • Maintains color control on all pieces.
  • Prepares files for print and distribution.
  • Creates packaging prototypes.
  • General awareness of competitors, competitive marketing campaigns and industry trends.
  • Provides interdepartmental design and print assistance as needed.
  • Maintains positive working relationships with vendors and customers.
  • Maintains project progress on the Creative SharePoint site.
  • Maintains organized files for all projects as specified by the creative department.
  • Continual improvement of skills and design knowledge through experience, PDP (Personal Development Plan) and training as necessary
    IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES
    • Bachelors degree in graphic design, or comparable degree and work-related experience
    • Five (5) years of innovation design related experience
    • Proficient in current Macintosh OS platform and environment
    • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Acrobat
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
    • Comfortable working on projects with tight deadlines
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
    • Polished and flexible interpersonal skills
    • Polished and flexible oral and written communication skills
    • Great understanding of and sensitivity to typography
    • Ability to translate project objectives into clear and attractive visual communications
    • Strong understanding of production and printing processes
    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Work is performed in an office environment. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours and average at least 40 hours a week. Some travel may be required.
